Looking Glass

I have gathered up most of the top providers speed tests so that you can actually check your speeds before deciding and making a purchase. Most hosts have these you just have to know where to look directly.

OvH:
Hetzner:
Contabo:

This post will be on-going and cover a ton of info for people starting servers, with sites to check for hosts, looking glass, coupons and more. This post will take time and therefor is considered a sticky for the time being.

Domains

Namecheap:https://www.namecheap.com/
Cheaper then most, full control over your domain and free lifetime whois privacy. I highly recommend this provider, they usually have discounts to.

GoDaddy:
https://www.godaddy.com/
A bit more pricer then above, however it's the OG of domain names, full control over your domain but you have to pay for privacy.

Dynadot: https://www.dynadot.com/
Been around for awhile, full control but you have to pay for privacy.

Ionos aka 1&1: https://www.ionos.com/
Cheap, full control, you have to pay for privacy and they are a pain in the ass to get the domain out of their system.

Always google for coupons, you can find more things like that here:

Stay away from any host that offers you a domain on signup. You do not own that domain, in fact they own it. You will never have full control and will not be able to take it with you if you change providers. It's always best practice to buy from a 3rd party.

Useful Websites

IntoDNS:https://intodns.com/
This website will check your DNS records of your domain and make sure everything is in order, or tell you what's wrong and what needs to be fixed.

SpamHaus: https://www.spamhaus.org/
A godly spam service which will show you various things about your domain and(or) email and if your blacklisted. Extremely helpful if your mail is landing in peoples spam boxes.

ProjectHoneyPot: https://www.projecthoneypot.org/
We use this on Lodelight and it helps greatly catch blacklisted people. The beautiful thing about this site is you can easily install a honey pot with little to no php skill and block asshats before the register just by them visiting.

WebHostingTalk: https://www.webhostingtalk.com/
This is the god father of all hosting websites, you can find deals, hosts, and even have discussions with pros from around the world.

wJunction: https://www.wjunction.com/
The more skiddy version of WebHostingTalk.

Digital Point: https://forums.digitalpoint.com/
A useful forum full of information and more.

BlackHatWorld: https://www.blackhatworld.com/forums/
This site is all about SEO and getting people to your site. Lots of guides and tools, a nice place to browse and learn more.

DomainTools: https://whois.domaintools.com
For all those special people out there who don't protect your whois info it can be located here just by putting your domain in lol.

BuiltWith: https://builtwith.com/
This site provides you with all types of information about said website, technology they are using platforms and more.

LowEndBox: https://lowendbox.com/
This site will help you find cheaper vps or boxes.

More to come.....

Hosting

OvH:https://us.ovhcloud.com/
A french company with ddos protection, game servers all over the world.

SoYouStart: https://www.soyoustart.com/us/
This is ovh's off brand.

Hetzner: https://www.hetzner.com/
A cheaper solution compared to OvH with active protection, we use this for xeno.flyff.life and I know servers who openly use them.

Contabo: https://contabo.com/en
Cheap vps that lags often with locations all over, most people use it for testing.

CheapWindowsVPS: https://cheapwindowsvps.com/
Like contabo it's a cheaper vps option, however has more specs, is faster and cheaper.

You can also check places like the following for windows based hosting:

Stay away from guys offering your hosting especially Filipinos as it's usually a scam and they are reselling.
Always check to see if the host is a reputable party.
